Components of Explaining the Gospel

Components of Explaining the Gospel

o          Explain the sin nature of man.

o          Talk about Satan’s lies.

o          Our separation from of God.

o          Our inadequacy to make ourselves perfectly “right” in God’s eyes.

o          The need for Jesus: a perfect sacrifice.

o          The unique qualifications of Jesus: a perfect solution.

o          God’s Grace and Mercy - scandalous outrageous sacrificial, love offered to us and for us.

o          God’s initiative of love without our effort of earning it from Him.

o          Jesus as Savior VS Jesus as Lord.  Invitation to “accept” along with action of “surrender.”

Dare 2 share Model  Greg Stier

God created us to be with him. Genesis 1-2

Our sins separate us from God. Genesis 3

Paying the price for sin, Jesus died and rose again. Matthew-Luke

Everyone who trusts in him alone has eternal life John

Life with Jesus starts now and lasts forever. Acts-Revelation

Share Jesus without Fear Model

  • "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).

  • "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 6:23).

  • "In reply Jesus declared, 'I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again'" (John 3:3).

  • "Jesus answered, 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me'" (John 14:6).

  • "That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. As the Scripture says, 'Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame'" (Romans 10:9-11).

  • "And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again" (2 Corinthians 5:15).

  • "Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20).

These are examples of not sharing your faith.

You should find a church to go to!

You should start taking your family to church on Sunday’s!

You should read the Bible everyday!

 You should pray everyday!

You should give your life to Jesus.

 You should repent!

You should come to our Bible Study.

 You need to stop . . . . .  and start . . . . . .

As soon as you start to say “you should. . .” you have stopped sharing your faith and have begun bullying someone who either knows nothing about Jesus or has been wounded by someone who does.

It is pointless to invite someone to worship services if they are not ready for it.  They may need personal discipleship for a season to instruct them with head knowledge that can go to their heart.
